BACKGROUND:
AdventHealth Ocala (“AdventHealth”), in partnership with the City of Ocala (“City”), by and through Ocala Fire Rescue (“OFR”), provides a Community Paramedicine Program (the “Program”). This Program has helped physicians monitor the health of vulnerable patients to produce better outcomes and reduce the number of ambulance transports, visits to the emergency department, and hospital readmissions.
City Council has approved Grant Agreements for Community Paramedicine Services between the City and the Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County (“Community Foundation”) to facilitate the Program since September 1, 2021.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
OFR and Community Foundation agree that it would be beneficial to the citizens of the City of Ocala for the Community Paramedicine Program to continue. Through this grant, Community Foundation will reimburse approximately 80% of the costs incurred by the City to operate the Program.

The Community Foundation will reimburse the City of Ocala, Fire Rescue $142,086. Funds will continue to be applied to account 001-369-000-000-16-36929 and expenditures will be applied to accounts 001-051-902-522-52-*. The Program is estimated to cost $173,657.
