FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Fleet recommends replacing vehicles 04-020, 04-044, 04-048, and 04-055 with new police-rated pursuit vehicles for the Ocala Police Department's critical operations. Insurance proceeds will be utilized to fund the purchase from Alan Jay Fleet Sales (Sourcewell Contract #2025-091521-NAF).
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total replacement cost for the four vehicles amounts to $250,564. Funding of $80,743 will be sourced from the City’s General Liability Insurance Fund (626-099-999-590-81-45020). The remaining balance of $169,821 will be drawn from the Ocala Police Department’s Machinery & Equipment account (001-018-602-521-66-64010). The attached budget resolution provides a detailed allocation of funds to the respective accounts to facilitate the purchase.

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 BUDGET TO SUPPORT THE REPLACEMENT OF FOUR VEHICLES APPRAISED AS A TOTAL LOSS AND TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL LIABILITY FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $80,743
WHEREAS city vehicles 04-020, 04-044, 04-048, and 04-055 were involved in separate major vehicle collisions resulting in the vehicles being appraised as a total loss; and
WHEREAS, the total replacement cost is $250,564; and
WHEREAS, the general liability fund will cover $20,584 toward the replacement of 04-020, $21,780 toward the replacement of 04-044, $22,807 toward the replacement of 04-048, and $15,572 toward the replacement of 04-055 for a total of $80,743; and
WHEREAS, the remaining $169,821 will be paid from the Ocala Police Department’s Machinery & Equipment account; and
WHEREAS, the replacement vehicles will utilize Sourcewell Contract 2025-091521-NAF pricing.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget be amended as outlined below.
