body

BACKGROUND:

As the fiber optic network continues to grow, Ocala Fiber Network (OFN) has had an ongoing need for a fiber design solution to develop a more specialized platform to meet the evolving needs of modern telecommunications infrastructure.

As a first step in addressing this need, City Council approved a five-year cooperative purchasing agreement with GeoGraph Technologies, LLC (the “Original Agreement”) for fiber network design software and related services.  Professional services to be rendered by Geograph Technologies under the agreement include data conversion, data enrichment, and data migration services necessary for the enrichment and conversion of the City’s ArcFM-based telecom GIS data into a CrescentLink‑compatible geodatabase. This project will modernize the City’s fiber network management platform, improve connectivity modeling accuracy, and support future operational and expansion needs.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

In collaboration with OFN, Geograph’s Professional Services Team assessed OFN’s existing data and prepared a Statement of Work tailored for the specific needs of this project.  Geograph’s Statement of Work and proposed deliverables align with OFN’s project objectives.

As provided for in the Original Agreement, data migration services would be billed to the City on either a fixed cost, lump sum or hourly/unit-based basis once the project scope was fully developed by the Professional Services Team.  This First Amendment incorporates the completed Statement of Work into the original agreement and sets forth the fixed cost billing for related services.

Staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are allocated in account 490-031-290-539-53-52045 - S/Ware-Subscript Based (SBITA). Expenditures will be tracked under Munis Contract No. OFN/260069.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
