BACKGROUND:
On November 17, 2020, City Council approved a two-year contract with Service and Technology Network Solutions, Inc. (“S&T”), Contract No. OFN/200700 (“the Original Agreement”), for the provision of aerial fiber installation services on an as needed basis, with an aggregate expenditure amount of $300,000. The initial term of the Original Agreement was effective through November 16, 2022, and provided two (2) optional one-year renewal terms.
On August 24, 2021, the City and S&T entered into a First Amendment to the Original Agreement to incorporate corrected exhibits. On June 21, 2022, City Council approved the Second Amendment to the Original Agreement to increase the aggregate expenditure threshold to $450,000 due to increased aerial construction and labor costs. On November 17, 2022, City Council approved the first one-year renewal with S&T in the amount of $200,000.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Ocala Fiber Network (“OFN”) now seeks approval of the second one-year renewal with S&T for $175,000. The provision of these services is critical to OFN’s ongoing installation of fiber cables and potential storm damage restoration.
OFN recommends approval of the contract amendment with S&T to support customer growth and network reliability.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The funding for the contract is available in the following account strings:

FY 25 490-031-292-539-64-63020 Improvement O/T Buildings-Road Projects $14,600
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
