BACKGROUND:
The Junior League of Ocala will hold a fundraiser (“Pints for Parks”) at Infinite Ale Works on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm that will benefit City Recreation Programs. The event will include Food Trucks and live entertainment on SW Third Street. Infinite Ale Works will apply for a permit with the state to extend its licensed premises to allow beer and wine on SW Third Street.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Section 6-7(b) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Ocala, Florida, provides an exception to allow for the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on streets, sidewalks, and public parking facilities for special events.
Section 6-7(b) states that such special events must be recognized and approved by resolution of City Council at a public hearing.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Junior League and Infinite Ale Works are working with other City departments (Recreation, Public Works, and Engineering) concerning street closures and the Ocala Police Department concerning security during the event.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR APPROVAL BY THE OCALA CITY COUNCIL FOR THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES (BEER AND WINE) ON SW THIRD STREET FROM SW FIRST AVENUE TO SOUTH MAGNOLIA AVENUE FOR A FUNDRAISER SPONSORED BY THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF OCALA (“PINTS FOR PARKS”) AT INFINITE ALE WORKS (304 SOUTH MAGNOLIA AVENUE) ON SATURDAY, APRIL 15, 2023, FROM 2 P.M. TO 6 P.M.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, in regular session as follows:
The Junior League of Ocala is planning a fundraiser (“Pints for Parks”) at Infinite Ale Works (304 South Magnolia Avenue) that includes a street closure (SW Third Street from SW First Avenue to South Magnolia Avenue). Infinite Ale Works will obtain a temporary extension of premises of its alcoholic beverage location permit to allow for beer and wine sales and consumption within the closed SW Third Street right-of-way on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. that will benefit City Recreation Programs.
