BACKGROUND:
On June 22, 2022, the City’s Community Programs Division executed a contract to perform housing rehabilitation of property located at 3808 NE 19th Street Circle, in the amount of $10,765. On June 22, 2023, Community Programs executed a Mortgage Note Modification Agreement in the amount of $23,000 for additional rehabilitation work at the stated property.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On May 13, 2026, Community Programs received a check for the balance of the deferred mortgage in the amount of $20,867.56. Staff recommends that the amount be accepted via the proposed budget resolution and added to the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Community Development Block Grant and State Housing Initiative Program grant budgets, to further assist low-income families with approved housing rehabilitation activities.

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 BUDGET TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE PROGRAM INCOME FOR THE CITY OF OCALA’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,338 AND THE STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,529 FOR A TOTAL OF $20,867
WHEREAS, the City of Ocala is recognized as a federally entitled community based on its population and therefore receives an annual allotment of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) grant; and
WHEREAS, on June 22, 2022, the City’s Community Programs Division executed a contract to perform housing rehabilitation of property located at 3808 NE 19th Street Circle, in the amount of $10,765; and
WHEREAS, on June 22, 2023, Community Programs executed a Mortgage Note Modification Agreement in the amount of $23,000 for additional rehabilitation work at the stated property; and
WHEREAS, on May 13, 2026, Community Programs received a check for the balance of the deferred mortgage in the amount of $20,867.56.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget be amended as outlined below to appropriate $20,867 to carry out activities as outlined in the City’s 2024-2028 Consolidated Plan.
