BACKGROUND:
The construction of BJ’s Wholesale Club at 7030 SW 59th Avenue is nearing completion. Mormax Beverages Corp, doing business as (dba) BJ's Wholesale Club #260, is now requesting a permit for the sale of beer, wine, and liquor package sales in sealed containers at this location. This permit does not allow for individual drink sales or on-premises consumption at 7030 SW 59th Avenue (Parcel 35512-100-02).

Request: The purpose of this request is for approval of a State 3PS alcohol permit to allow beer, wine, and liquor package sales in sealed containers for Mormax Beverages Corp, dba BJ's Wholesale Club #260; hours will be 8 a.m. - 10 p. m. Monday - Saturday. (Code of Ordinances Section 6-5 limits the hours and times during which alcoholic and intoxicating beverages may be sold, consumed or served, or permitted to be served or consumed, in any place or on any premises defined as a business establishment as follows: for each day of the week except Sunday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 a.m. the following days. On Sunday, Alcoholic beverages may be sold for consumption on the premises only, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Monday; and beer, ale, and wine may be sold in sealed containers for consumption off the premises only, between the hours of 7 a.m. on Sunday and 2 a.m. on Monday.)
Staff Comments: Comments were requested from Growth Management, the Police and Fire Departments, and the City Attorney. No comments or objections were received.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
This request is for a provisional location permit, subject to the applicant satisfying the requirements of the City’s Code of Ordinances Section 6-32(d) to obtain their appropriate state-issued license.
