body
BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala (City) operates multiple facilities equipped with elevators and lifts that are essential for daily operations, public accessibility, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. These systems are used heavily and are critical to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of equipment, staff, residents, and visitors within City buildings.
On March 28, 2023, the City issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No.: FAC/230355 for the provision of preventative maintenance services and repairs on elevators and lifts at multiple buildings throughout the City. Two firms responded, and after considering price and other evaluation factors, Oracle Elevator Holdco, Inc., doing business as Oracle Elevator Company, was identified as the lowest responsible bidder.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
At the end of the initial contract term, Facilities Department staff requested a one-year renewal of Contract No. FAC/230355. Oracle Elevator Company agreed to the extension under the original terms, conditions, and pricing. The renewal period began on July 8, 2025, and will continue through July 7, 2026. Facilities staff anticipates that total expenditures under the renewed contract will amount to approximately $225,000 for the duration of the term. Staff recommends approval of this one-year renewal of the agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding of $56,250 is available in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget account 001-026-321-519-51-31010, and the remaining $168,750 will be budgeted in Fiscal Year 2025-26.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Amendment will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
