Public Artist Roster Update

BACKGROUND:
Staff proposed an update for the Public Artist Roster on December 4, 2024.
On October 1, 2025, staff updated the Public Artist Roster open call with additional edits.
On February 4, 2026, staff shared that the Public Artist Roster will go live in March and have the deadline of April 27, 2026. The call was published on February 6, 2026. The deadline was later extended to May 4, 2026.
On May 8, 2026, Staff provided access to OMAC to the online CaFE platform to review applications.
Jurying Process:
-Begin with entering login information.
-Next, select your scorecard preference- if you skip this step, you will be unable to save scores. ---You can select the number in the applicants graph to review or scroll down to the entries with thumbnails.
-Click the unscored artists to view the image list, resume, professional references, and letter of recommendation.
The artist information will include their name, artwork details, and artist statement. artist name, artwork, Artist Statement. You can also score and leave comments.
-The scoring range is one through twenty. One through ten points for the artist’s experience. Consider the artists’ ability to execute projects on time and on budget. One through ten points will be for artist excellence. Consider the workmanship and elevated execution of unique and innovative methods.
-When you save the score, it will automatically take you to the next applicant.
Scores are due August 5, 2026, for our next OMAC meeting.
Artists with a score of 14 and above will be recommended for the Ocala Artist Roster.
Approved artists will remain on the roster for 5 years, until the next open call where artists can reapply with updates or not renew. Artists can request removal from the Roster at any time in writing.
Unsuccessful applicants may appeal the decision. We comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations concerning civil and human rights.
