BACKGROUND:

On or about February 21, 2017, the Revitalization Strategies Division, now known as Community Programs, finalized a rehabilitation project for Elouise Baker, an elderly, low-income household homeowner whose real property is located at 321 NW 31st St., Ocala, Florida. The project was completed using the State Housing Initiative Program (SHIP) grant funding. The amount of the deferred mortgage was $14,050.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On or about July 31, 2024, Community Programs was contacted concerning the Baker deferred mortgage payout amount through August 31, 2024. On or about August 20, 2024, Community Programs received a check for the balance of the deferred mortgage in the amount of $14,050. Staff recommends this amount be accepted via the proposed budget resolution and added to the Fiscal Year 2024-25 SHIP grant budget to further assist low-income families with approved housing rehabilitation activities.
