BACKGROUND:
Ocala Electric Utility (OEU) and Ocala Fiber Network (OFN) have an ongoing need for a managed uniform program to supply flame-retardant, highly visible uniforms and work apparel for the safety of employees as they perform their duties.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On February 21, 2023, the City issued its Request for Proposal (RFP) No. ELE/230220 for the provision of a managed uniform program for OEU and OFN. Six (6) proposals were received and a Selection Committee convened on April 13, 2023 to evaluate the proposals. Proposals were evaluated based upon the following weighted criteria:
• Qualifications and Experience, Staffing Plan, Customer Service, and Responsiveness (30%)
• Methodology, Ease of Use, and Availability of Items (40%)
• Percentage Discount Off Catalog/Listed Pricing (30%)
Tyndale Enterprises, Inc. was found to be the highest ranked firm by the Selection Committee:

FISCAL IMPACT:
The requested expenditure includes $180,000 for the initial outfitting of OEU and OFN field employees and $80,000 annually for the second and third years of the agreement.
Departments utilizing this contract have budgeted (in 34010 - Other Services) for uniforms and accessories in their individual fiscal year budget.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
