body

BACKGROUND:

On January 7, 2020, City Council approved the original grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The primary objective of the project is to design and construct a sanitary sewer system that will remove from service a package plant that serves approximately 350 mixed-use residential lots and a community center. State funding in the amount of $750,000 for the project was eligible for work performed on or after July 1, 2019, until September 30, 2020.

On July 8, 2020, a change order was executed to extend the project completion date to March 21, 2021. On February 2, 2021, Amendment 1 was approved to extend the expiration date to September 30, 2022. Amendment 2 will extend the project completion to December 31, 2024.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The original agreement was set to expire on September 30, 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 Emergency Order, the completion date was extended to March 31, 2021.

Due to delays related to materials and unresolved issues of assets and easement between the City and Sun Communities, Inc., the completion date was extended to September 30, 2022.

Due to delays relating to materials the new requested anticipated completion date is December 31, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Amendment does not augment the original fiscal impact.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

The Second Amendment has been reviewed and approved in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
