BACKGROUND:

On February 4, 2020, the City entered an interlocal agreement with Marion County to create the Ocala/Marion County Joint Office on Homelessness.  The City entered into a separate Memorandum of Understanding with FL-514 Ocala/Marion County Continuum of Care (CoC) Board for the City to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and coordinated entry system.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Marion County Community Programs has prepared a sub-recipient grant agreement to be executed by the City of Ocala to enter into an agreement for the City of Ocala to purchase HMIS software as the HMIS lead agency for the Marion County Continuum of Care. The City will be reimbursed from the County’s Emergency Solution Grant - Coronavirus (ESG-CV) grant for the purchase of the software, the transferring of data, the first year’s subscription, and associated training and support.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2022-153

 

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 BUDGET TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM MARION COUNTY FOR THE PURCHASE OF HOMELESS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (HMIS) SOFTWARE AS MARION COUNTY’S CONTINUUM OF CARE (CoC) HMIS LEAD IN THE AMOUNT OF $133,539

 

 

WHEREAS, on Feb. 4, 2020, the City entered an interlocal agreement with Marion County to create the Ocala/Marion County Joint Office on Homelessness; and

WHEREAS, on Feb. 4, 2020, the City entered a separate Memorandum of Understanding with FL-514 Ocala/Marion County Continuum of Care (CoC) Board for the City to assume the duties and responsibilities of the HMIS and coordinated entry system; and

WHEREAS, On April 12, 2022 Marion County issued an award letter for the City to receive Emergency Solutions Grant Corona Virus (ESG-CV) funding in the amount of $133,539.00; and

WHEREAS, the purchase of this software will assist in the City’s continued effort to reduce homelessness in Marion County.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Budget be amended as outlined below to appropriate funding as follows:
