BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Police Department received a donation of $8,800 from Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection. Kimberly’s Center dedicates funds for donations to law enforcement to assist in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations. Cellebrite is software that is used to access information on digital devices.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Kimberly’s Center has authorized this donation of $8,800 to be used for a one-year Cellebrite license. Detectives assigned to ICAC investigations will utilize Cellebrite.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The donation of $8,800 will pay for the Cellebrite license. Funds will be housed in account # 001-018-851-521-52-52045.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2025-145

 

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 BUDGET TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE A DONATION FROM KIMBERLY’S CENTER FOR CHILD PROTECTION TO PURCHASE CELLEBRITE LICENSING IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,800

 

WHEREAS, the Ocala Police Department received a donation in the amount of $8,800 from Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection to purchase Cellebrite licensing for Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations; and

WHEREAS, the funds will be utilized to pay for Cellebrite licensing for detectives assigned to investigate ICAC crimes.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget be amended as outlined below to accept and appropriate $8,800 from a private community donor for the purpose of purchasing a Cellebrite license.
