BACKGROUND:
The City has an ongoing need for environmental water testing services. These services are needed for the Water Resources Department’s Compliance Monitoring Division on behalf of two wastewater treatment facilities, two water treatment facilities, and one water quality laboratory for permit analyses that are required for regulatory agencies.
On October 1, 2021, the City of Ocala entered into a contract with Pace Analytical Services, LLC for the provision of environmental water (wastewater and drinking water) testing services (Contract No.: WRS/210139). The contract award was for an initial term of three years with two optional one-year renewal terms. The aggregate expenditure for the initial three-year term, which expires September 30, 2024, was originally estimated not to exceed $50,000. Due to unforeseen increases in federal and state testing requirements, contract expenditures under WRS/210139 totaled $49,901 as of October 10, 2023.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Staff is now seeking approval to add an additional $25,000 to WRS/210139 to cover work projected to be necessary through the end of the initial contract term. Line-item pricing under the contract will remain the same.
Staff recommends approving the overall contract expenditure amount up to $75,000 through September 20, 2024, with the option of two additional, one-year renewals.
FISCAL IMPACT:
In previous fiscal years, expenditures under this contract have totaled $38,262.43.
There are sufficient funds available in the following FY 2024 Water Resources accounts:
455-030-307-535-53-34010 $25,000
