BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala’s Engineering Department was awarded grant funds from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to complete the City of Ocala Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
This project is necessary to help the City of Ocala to perform Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment, which will be used in the development of the overall stormwater master plan for the City.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this has been budgeted in account 158-050-388-538-53-31010 in the amount of $350,000.00. There is no city match obligation.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2024-154
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 BUDGET TO ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO PERFORM A “CITY OF OCALA COMPREHENSIVE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT” IN THE AMOUNT OF $350,000
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant through the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection, agreement # 24PLN40, to perform a “City of Ocala Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment”; and
WHEREAS, this grant funds a comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment (VA) pursuant to Section 380.093, Florida Statutes (F.S.), as well as development of an Adaptation Plan. The Project will include public outreach and stakeholder engagement; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection will fund an amount not to exceed $350,000.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session that the FY2024 budget be amended to accept and appropriate funding as outlined below,
