body

BACKGROUND:

The Mayor and City Council members receive a monthly vehicle allowance to offset costs associated with using personal vehicles for official City business. The current allowance levels were last adjusted in 2015.

This budget resolution amends the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget to reflect the financial impact of that adjustment for the remaining seven months of the fiscal year.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The approved vehicle allowance adjustment results in additional expenditures during the current fiscal year. This budget resolution is necessary to appropriate funding to cover the increase for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025-26. Staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

A transfer from the General Fund Reserve for Contingencies account 001-099-999-513-81-99800 will cover the requested amount, and the budget impact for the remaining seven months of Fiscal Year 2025-26 is $22,400, broken down as follows:

                     Mayor: $3,150

                     City Council Members (5): $19,250
