BACKGROUND:

On November 8, 2017, the Revitalization Strategies Division, now known as Community Programs, executed a contract to perform housing rehabilitation for Geraldine Jackson, a low-income household homeowner whose real property is located at 1917 SW 7th Place, Ocala, Florida. The project was completed using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. The deferred mortgage was $23,428.48

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On January 13, 2026, Community Programs received a check for the balance of the deferred mortgage in the amount of $23,429. Staff recommends the amount be accepted via the proposed budget resolution and added to the Fiscal Year 2025-26 CDBG grant budget to further assist low-income families with approved housing rehabilitation activities.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2025-127

 

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 BUDGET TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE PROGRAM INCOME FOR THE CITY OF OCALA’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,429

 

 

WHEREAS, the City of Ocala is recognized as a federally entitled community based on its population and therefore receives an annual allotment of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding; and

WHEREAS, on November 8, 2017, the Revitalization Strategies Division, now known as Community Programs, executed a contract to perform housing rehabilitation for Geraldine Jackson, a low-income household homeowner whose real property is located at 1917 SW 7th Place, Ocala, Florida; and

WHEREAS, the project was completed using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, and the amount of the deferred mortgage was $23,429; and

 

WHEREAS, on January 13, 2026, Community Programs received a check for the balance of the deferred mortgage in the amount of $23,429.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget be amended as outlined below to appropriate $23,428 to carry out activities as outlined in the City’s 2024-2028 Consolidated Plan.
