BACKGROUND:
Millers Ale House is requesting a permit for the sale of beer, wine, and liquor at a new location in SW Ocala that is currently in the site plan review process. The site is adjacent to and southwest of the existing Culver’s restaurant along SR 200 (Parcel #23877-000-04).

• Police Presence: The subject parcel does not have a situs address. During the past two years, there have been 213 calls for service for the entire 4800 block of SW College Road, four of which were criminal in nature.
• Reason: New location
• Request: 4COP - The purpose of this permit is to allow the sale of beer, wine, and liquor for on-premise consumption for Miller’s Ale House, Inc., dba, Miller’s Ale House. The hours will be Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Sec. 6-5 limits the hours and times during which alcoholic and intoxicating beverages may be sold, consumed or served, or permitted to be served or consumed, in any place or on any premises defined as a business establishment as follows: for each day of the week except Sunday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 a.m. the following days. On Sunday, Alcoholic beverages may be sold for consumption on the premises only, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Monday; and beer, ale, and wine may be sold in sealed containers for consumption off the premises only, between the hours of 7 a.m. on Sunday and 2 a.m. on Monday.)
• Staff requested comments from the Engineering, Growth Management, Police, and Fire Departments and asked for legal review by the City Attorney (non-objected).
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS: This request is for a provisional location permit, subject to the applicant satisfying the requirements of the city’s code of ordinances Section 6-32(d) to obtain their appropriate state-issued license.
Proximity to schools, churches, and daycare centers: No schools, churches, or daycares are within the 500’ radius.
Proximity to other Alcohol Beverage Establishments: Within the 500' radius, there is one other alcohol location (Race Trac).
