BACKGROUND:

On December 17, 2021, the Ocala Police Department received a donation from a citizen, who wishes to remain anonymous, in the amount of $35,000 to purchase a new K-9 and any K-9 related expenses.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The utilization of this donation will enhance the K-9 police unit to serve the citizens of the City of Ocala and Marion County.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The designated gift account in the Police Trust Fund was created to deposit revenues received as a result of community donations

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2022-125

 

AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE A DESIGNATED COMMUNITY DONATION TO PURCHASE A K-9 AND ASSOCIATED EXPENSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000

 

WHEREAS, the designated gift account in the Police Trust Fund was created to deposit revenues received as a result of community donations; and

Whereas, on December 17, 2021, the Ocala Police Department received a donation from a citizen in the amount of $35,000 to purchase a new K-9 and any K-9 related expenses; and

WHEREAS, the utilization of this donation will enhance the K-9 police unit to serve the citizens of the City of Ocala and Marion County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the FY2021-2022 budget be amended as outlined below to appropriate $35,000 for the enhancement of the police K-9 unit.
