BACKGROUND:
Wear Gloves is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals in need to earn what they require. Their mission centers around empowering people by providing them with avenues to become more self-sufficient, gain permanent shelter, and acquire work experience essential for future employment. Through various programs and initiatives, Wear Gloves aims to uplift and support individuals in their journey toward economic stability and personal growth.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
To further their efforts and expand their reach, Wear Gloves, Inc. has submitted a request to the City of Ocala for a passenger van. This vehicle will play a crucial role in facilitating the organization's programs and services, allowing them to efficiently transport individuals to job sites, housing opportunities, and other essential locations. By obtaining the requested van, Wear Gloves will enhance their ability to assist persons in need and positively impact their lives by providing valuable resources and opportunities for advancement.
Staff recommends the donation of a 2006 Ford E350 as indicated below. This vehicle is 18 years old and has reached the end of its useful life. This donation will enhance Wear Gloves’ programs to assist persons in need.
