BACKGROUND:
The West Ocala Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Residential Property Improvement Grant encourages homeowners to make facade improvements, addressing neighborhood deterioration trends while adding value to the CRA.
The maximum grant amount that can be awarded is $20,000, covering up to 75 percent of the project costs. The attached grant framework outlines the elements of eligible work.

* Because this is new construction, the program does not require two quotes. Instead, a detailed budget breakdown and supporting architectural documents have been provided. Attachments include building elevations, and plans.
* The applicant's representative, Dwan Thomas, currently serves on the West Ocala CRA Advisory Committee and will abstain from voting on this item due to a conflict of interest.
* The Grant Review Committee (GRC) visit took place on September 4, 2025. Ms. Antoinette Hunt represented the Advisory Committee at this visit.
