BACKGROUND:
City Council adopted a resolution on November 15, 2016, establishing the Brownfields Advisory Committee (BAC), and eleven members were appointed. On October 18, 2022, the Committee membership was reduced from eleven to nine through Resolution 2023-6. Staff requests that the City Council reappoint Barbara Brooks and Luzonia Waters to terms expiring on March 1, 2029.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Members of the Brownfields Advisory Committee are from boards, committees, and organizations primarily representing West Ocala. Brownfields Advisory Committee members shall serve four-year terms and may be reappointed.
The BAC is required to meet at least twice a year. Dr. Barbara Brooks has been a member of the BAC since 2016, while Luzonia Waters joined the committee in 2019. Please refer to the membership applications attached.
