BACKGROUND:
On February 7, 2023, City Council approved the Agreement to Provide Alcatel-Lucent Network Equipment and Software with Crystal Communications, Inc. (Contract No.: OFN/220908) in the amount of $250,000. The initial contract term was for two years and offered one one-year optional renewal term.
Ocala Fiber Network would like to exercise the one-year renewal option.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
OFN’s core, consisting of Alcatel network switches and associated software, is nearing the end of its useful life and requires upgrades. The purchase of associated equipment and software will ensure reliability and redundancy in the network.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The expenditure associated with Crystal Communication is available and will be paid from budget account #490-031-296-539-69-65010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Amendment will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
