BACKGROUND:
* Petitioner/Property Owner: City of Ocala.
Key Points:
This petition is being requested by city staff to change the future land use category on the subject properties from Employment Center to Public.
Zoning and Land Use Details:
The petitioner is requesting to change the future land use classification in association with the concurrent application for rezoning (ZON25-0001). This request is to provide a consistency land use for City owned properties. The properties have been utilized as a storm debris collection yard for the Public Works and Stormwater departments.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
* The purpose of the requested future land use map amendment is to provide the appropriate land use category (Public) for city owned and utilized properties.
* The requested Public future land use is consistent with the existing use of the subject property.
* The subject property is serviced by city utilities, and adequate public facilities exist to service any future development.
