BACKGROUND:
Articulating telescopic bucket trucks play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines. The AT48M is a specialized two-person bucket truck designed for all-terrain operation, offering 52.5 feet of working height. This makes it ideal for various tasks, including maintenance, construction, and emergency restoration services.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Unit #22-494, a 2011 International 4x4 bucket truck, has experienced significant operational degradation. It has exceeded its useful lifespan with 14 years of service and 151,220 miles. Fleet operations recommends replacing this unit with a 2025 Altec AT48M 4x4 bucket truck. This replacement will be procured through Sourcewell Contract No. 040924-ALT.
FISCAL IMPACT:
A transfer from the Electric Reserve for Contingencies account 457-099-999-531-81-99800 will cover the purchase amount of $215,006. The attached budget resolution allocates funding to the appropriate accounts to facilitate the purchase.
