BACKGROUND:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and City Council adopted resolutions on November 1, 2016, establishing the West Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee and nine members were appointed. Mr. Thomas was initially appointed to the Committee in 2018 and then later reappointed in 2020 to serve a four-year term ending March 1, 2024.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Members of the West Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee are a part of other organizations and are citizens of West Ocala. West Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee members shall serve four-year terms and may be reappointed. Mr. Thomas has served on the Committee for several years and partners with multiple agencies to support the community through various outreach initiatives.
Staff is proposing the reappointment of Dwan Thomas for a new-four-year term expiring on March 1, 2028.
