BACKGROUND:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and City Council adopted resolutions on February 7, 2017, to establish the East Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee and seven members were appointed. Tito Comas and Van Akin are currently serving terms that will end March 1, 2024.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Members of the East Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee are East Ocala property owners and representatives of East Ocala organizations. East Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee members shall serve four-year terms and may be reappointed. Mr. Comas has served in different roles on multiple City and County committees. Mr. Akin is an experienced real estate broker in Ocala and has served on the Committee for several years.
Currently, staff is proposing that the CRA Board and City Council reappoint Tito Comas and Van Akin to new terms expiring on March 1, 2028.
