BACKGROUND:

The project consists of engineering design work to prepare signalization plans and structural design for a new mast arm traffic signal at the intersection of SW 43rd Court and SW 40th Street. This project is associated with the SW 43rd Court (also known as SW 44th Avenue Phase 1B) four-lane widening project. On January 16, 2024, the Ocala City Council approved a contract with Commercial Industrial Corp. for the construction of SW 44th Avenue Phase 1B.

The Engineering Department contacted Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. (“Kimley-Horn”) for a proposal for this project under the Agreement for Continuing Professional Engineering Services - Citywide (Contract No.: ENG/210895) approved by City Council on September 20, 2022.
