BACKGROUND:

Janitorial services are required to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of city buildings and facilities. To achieve this goal, professional janitorial services are needed to perform daily, bi-weekly, and monthly cleaning services for various areas including but not limited to offices, reception areas, restrooms, break rooms, and auditoriums.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On December 1, 2023, the City initiated an Invitation to Bid (ITB) #FAC/240213 to secure janitorial services for the City Complex and Recreation and Parks Administration. The bidding process aimed to establish a 15-month contract. A total of 13 cleaning companies submitted responses to the bid. After a comprehensive evaluation of the received bids, the Facilities Department recommends awarding ITB# FAC/240213 to SCSI Southern Cleaning Service. This vendor demonstrated the highest level of responsiveness and value among the participants.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract is appropriated and encumbered in the Fiscal Year 2024 Facilities account 001-026-321-519-51-34010 (Other Services).  Fiscal Year 2025 funds will be appropriated during the budget process.
